Kobau Farm is nestled in the South East Corner of Manitoba in the small town of Middlebro. Here we grow our own hay, have large pastures, and free choice barn access for our horses. We raise and ride mainly American Quarter Horses, but also enjoy raising and riding Canadian Morgan horses that are Western Working Bloodlines.
Kobau Farm was started out of a love of High Quality working horses that could be enjoyed in all disciplines. Originally based in Oliver BC, We moved to Manitoba in 2000 and brought our horses with us. We also have a limited number of purebred Charollais Sheep. They are the foundation of the flock we are currently working on raising.
The bloodlines of our Quarter Horses include such horses as Doc O'Lena, Mr. Bonanza Jack, Win or Lose, Cutters Wild Willy and Show Bar Bob. We have based our breeding on temperament, conformation and workability. We continue to strive to produce the highest quality working and riding horse that we can. We want every horse we raise to be one we would be proud to ride, and even prouder to see others enjoy.
Our Morgan Bloodlines are those of Ramuls Justin, a well known offspring of Bombo. They also include such horses as Mentor, Upwey Ben Don, Triton Ryan and Morspeed. They are solid conformation horses with excellent minds and a willingness to work that we continue to enjoy.
We have just started raising Sheep, with the focus on Charollais in our purebred flock. Our Commercial flock will make use of the Charollais Ram, but will also include Rideau and Canadian Arcott breeds with some Suffolk crosses also. We are looking forward to lambs starting the middle of June 2012.
We will be updating pictures regularly, so please check back often
